The Company is currently undertaking prospecting, geological mapping, random sampling, surface trenching and sampling programs along the prospective copper horizon of +7 km hosted in sediment, which extends towards the north from the Okohongo Cu-Ag deposit. This prospective horizon, colloquially known as the “Okohongo horizon”, is found in the lower Omao formation (limestone, siltstone, dolomite), which is stratigraphically above the Nosib group (sandstone, shale, conglomerate).
Michael Stares, President and CEO of the company, said: “These very high copper concentrations and strong silver analyzes confirm the importance of the Epunguwe region. This target area, located more than 5 direct kilometers north of the Okohongo Cu-Ag deposit, gives me additional confidence in the prospectivity of this region of the Property. White Metal remains focused on advancing the Tower Stock Gold property in Ontario, Canada, but we will certainly continue to advance the Okohongo copper-silver property as one of our core assets.
A total of 56 grab rock samples were collected from the Epunguwe target area and the northern Okohongo showing during recent geological mapping. The target area of Epunguwe (“Epunguwe”) is located approximately 4.3 km north of the Okohongo Cu-Ag deposit and covers a length of at least 800 meters to the northwest. The Okohongo North showing is located approximately 2.7 km north of the Okohongo Cu-Ag deposit. Analytical results for the first 20 grab samples of rocks are summarized in Table 1 *.
The Company also completed 10 trenches trending east-west and north-east (EPT001 to EPT010) targeting the contact horizon between the Lower Omao formation (east) and the Nosib group (west) and exposing copper mineralization hosted in the sediments. A total of 28 grab rock samples from the trenching program were submitted for analysis.
Historical reports describe the Epunguwe target area as a northwest direction, an area of about three kilometers by half a kilometer of geochemical soil anomalies, as well as exposed copper mineralization at the surface, in trenches. and in boreholes (Table 2 *), occurring along a major syn-sedimentary basin growth fault.
Mineralization is described as structurally controlled and hosted by conglomerates (sandstones) of the Nosib basal group at or near contact with overlying rocks of the Ombombo subgroup; Siltstone from the Lower Omao Formation and dolomite from the Lower Omao Formation also contain mineralization (INV Metals Inc. report, March 21, 2012, filed on SEDAR). To the Company’s knowledge, no work has been carried out in this area since 2012.
A more detailed description of the new copper exploration areas can be found on the Company’s website (https://www.whitemetalres.com/taranis-okohongo-cu-ag.html).
A qualified person has not performed enough work to verify the historical analysis results and technical information reported here. Rock grab samples are selective in nature and, as such, are not necessarily representative of the mineralization hosted on the property.
The technical information in this press release has been reviewed and approved by Dr. Scott Jobin-Bevans (P.Geo.), Vice President Exploration and Director of White Metal, who is a Qualified Person as defined by the standard. NI 43-101. .
