STOCK MARKET LIVE: Nifty, Sensex, BSE, NSE, FII, Crude Oil Price, NTPC, SBI, US FOMC Meeting
Markets are expected to open on a positive note amid mixed global signals and lower crude oil prices. As of 7:50 a.m., the SGX Nifty Futures was reading 17,890 levels, indicating a rise of 65 odd points on the Nifty50.
Overall, investors will be watching the minutes from the US FOMC meeting on Wednesday to understand inflation and recession projections. That aside, US markets were mixed on Tuesday as the Dow Jones climbed 0.7%, while the S&P 500 rose 0.1% and the NASDAQ Composite slipped 0.1%.
Major Asia-Pacific markets were also mixed on Wednesday morning. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 1.05%, Japan’s Nikkei 225 was flat and South Korea’s Kospi rose 0.2%.
Meanwhile, crude oil prices continued to trend on a slippery slope. Brent crude hovered at $92 a barrel and WTI crude at $86 a barrel.
Back home, Mahanagar Gas shares will be in focus after the gas distribution company cut prices for piped natural gas (PNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG).
