Sony wins ‘Broadcaster of the Year’ award on day two of Goafest 2022

Day two of Goafest 2022, the advertising, marketing and media industry’s largest event that celebrates creativity, culminated in the presentation of the ABBY Awards in nine categories. These included ABBY Diffuser, ABBY Technology, ABBY Design, Digital ABBY, among others.

Sony Pictures Networks India and TV18 Broadcast Ltd scored strong wins in broadcaster ABBY. The two broadcasters won two gold medals – Sony for Best Sports TV Channel Promotion for its Love for Cricket campaign and its UEFA Champions League Sona Mana Hai campaign. Sony Pictures Network India won Broadcaster of the Year in this category. Zee Kannada also picked up a gold medal for best TV channel launch.

In the Technology ABBY, Samsung won gold for the best creative use of technological innovation for its Goodvibes campaign created by Cheil. Sangbad Pratidin won a gold and silver award for his #MaaClicks – No Selfie this Puja campaign which won best use of technology for community management/building and second place in best creative use of technology. ‘technological innovation.

Amazon Prime Video also picked up two metals. Burger King was the only Gold Award winner in the Digital ABBY segment for its #LonelyNoMore social media work created by Famous Innovations. It also bagged the highest metals in this category.

In the Mobile Abby category, Cheil India won Gold, for its work for Samsung. She also won the “Digital Specialist Agency of the Year” award in the Digital Craft category.

On the first day, Mindshare won the “Agency of the Year” award and won eight gold medals. Lodestar UM won the Grand Prize.

Distinguished guests are present

The second day saw a host of distinguished guests address the attendees. These included two-time Olympic medalist and badminton player PV Sindhu, former cricketer Kapil Dev as well as Menno Kluin, Creative Director, Dentsu Creative USA. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and director SS Rajamouli also took the stage during knowledge sessions at the festival.

Sindhu talked about the importance for celebrities to know and understand what the brand is before putting their name behind it. She talked about the mantra of success and the coping mechanism for dealing with a loss in a game.

Rajamouli, who has established himself as one of the most successful directors of recent times, offered advice on how to deal with failure. Recounting his failures to get his ideas across on screen, he explained how failure can be a learning experience while on a journey.
