Poll: Which “Techtober” event are you most passionate about?
Tech companies love to bundle events. Often times, we’ll have multiple events in the span of a month, with Apple, Google, Microsoft, and even Samsung scrambling to get your attention. October is usually one of those times, which is why it is affectionately called “Techtober”. This year is no different, so we have several big events scheduled for roughly the same week. Which one awaits you the most?
With the Pixel 6 launch date already announced, Apple decided to take advantage of Google’s thunder by scheduling a launch event the day before. Since the company just had its big iPhone 13 event, Cupertino is expected to launch its latest mini-LED rocking MacBook models and new chips.

Apple’s event is scheduled for Monday, October 18 at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET.
Google Pixel fall launch
Google’s upcoming Pixel 6 event could arguably be the biggest of the bunch thanks to the anticipation building for what could be one of the best Android phones of the year. Google teased the devices heavily for a few months, not to mention that we saw a slew of leaks, as well as the excitement leading up to the official Android 12 rollout.
Google’s Pixel 6 launch event is scheduled for Tuesday, October 19 at 10 a.m. PT / 1 a.m. ET.
Samsung Galaxy Unboxed Part 2
Samsung has also decided to hold a Galaxy Unpacked Part 2 event next week, although it’s not entirely clear what to expect. The teaser for the event is about reflecting individuality and living life in “many colorful, interesting and unique ways”.
It looks like a reference to Android 12’s dynamic color theme, something that happened in Samsung’s latest One UI 4 beta, so the company may consider discussing its update plans. However, we don’t expect the company to launch the Galaxy S21 FE right after rumors of its delay.
The Galaxy Unpacked Part 2 event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 20 at 7 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET.
Launch of the Sony Xperia
And then there is Sony. This one came out of nowhere, but the company has a Xperia event scheduled for the following week. With the company’s major smartphone launches already over, anyone can guess what we’ll have at this event. Still, it’s true that it seems random to lump Sony together with other major Techtober launches. Hope we get something pretty interesting!
Sony’s Xperia event takes place on October 25 at 8:00 p.m. PT / 11:00 p.m. ET.
