mediatek: Infinix will launch the first smartphone powered by Mediatek Helio G99

Last month, Mediatek announced a few new chipsets for smartphones, including the Helio G99. Now the Hong Kong-based smartphone maker Infinix announced the launch of the first Helio G99 smartphone. The company hasn’t provided much information about the smartphone, but it will be a member of the Note 12 series.
The Helio G99 chipset was announced two weeks ago alongside the Size 930 and Size 1050 chipset. The Helio G99 chipset is manufactured on TSMC’s 6nm node process. It is an octa-core chipset consisting of 2 Cortex A-76 performance cores clocked at up to 2.2 GHz and another group of 6 Cortex A-55 cores running at a frequency of 2 GHz. The processor is paired with the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU to handle graphics-intensive tasks.
Helio G99 supports up to 120Hz display and 108MP camera
The chipset supports displays up to 120Hz with a maximum resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels, i.e. FHD+. Moreover, it supports LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. The Helio G99 can support up to 108MP cameras and a dual 16MP setup on the front. However, since 5G connectivity is not supported, the next model of Infinix 12 series powered by Helio G99 would be a 4G smartphone.
Infinix InBook X1 Slim laptop launched in India this month
In related news, Infinix is ​​launching the InBook X1 Slim laptop in India on June 15th. Infinix’s next laptop will be 14.88mm thick and weigh 1.24kg, and the company claims it will be the lightest and thinnest laptop in its price segment. . The Infinix InBook X1 Slim is expected to be a rebranded variant of InBook X2, which hit the global markets in January.
